Mobile Touch Tech – the buzz

There is a lot of buzz in the news, on the Web, and among the educational technology community about the possibilities for emerging mobile technologies to change how we compute. The devices that run on the iPhone operating system are especially hot topics these days. I am not an iPhone user, but I am looking forward to exploring how the iPad and iPod touch and their apps might be of interest and use to the arts educator. I taught elementary and middle level art for 6 years, so when I think of the arts classroom I am thinking specifically about k-12 visual art education. Currently, I teach pre-service teachers at Penn State. I am also a collaborative inquiry group facilitator with the ArtsEducator2.0 project. At the AE2.0 project, one of our interests is exploring new digital technologies for inspiration and application in arts education.
