When the iPad is insufficient as a teaching tool

Well, I have been trying to teach my educational technology class using only my iPad and I gave in already. The second class meeting included a Skype call with fellow blogger Mara, and I wanted to use Skype’s video feature so that she could see my class and my class could see her. Without a built-in camera, this video-based VOIP communication is out of iPad’s league. My MacBook Pro had to go with me to class.

I’ll keep trying to be iPad-centric in my teaching, but I am on the lookout for situations where the iPad doesn’t do what I need it to in order to teach in the most effective ways I know how.
